SAFETY AND HAZARDOUS MATERIALS
In certain work environments, one may come into contact with hazardous materials. These include toxic substances such as asbestos, explosive or chemical substances. These materials can be harmful to health. Therefore, it is crucial to work as safely as possible with these hazardous materials. Products that can help include safety pictograms, which indicate which dangers to watch out for. If an accident occurs, employees can use a safety shower. These emergency showers can prevent or reduce the unpleasant consequences of an incident. Nedelko emergency showers are characterized by ease of use, durability, and reliability. They are perfect for industrial use.
MECHANICAL AND ELECTRICAL HAZARDS
The Lockout Tagout (LOTO) procedure is designed to protect employees from the unexpected release of energy during maintenance and repair work. These hazards can be both mechanical and electrical. For a Lockout Tagout procedure for mechanical hazards, such as ball valves, handwheel valves, butterfly valves, steering wheels, and shut-off valves, lockouts are placed on the energy control points of the energy source and then locked with a safety padlock, marked with a safety tag. This way, the energy supply is interrupted, and maintenance work can be safely performed.
In addition to mechanical hazards, such as moving parts on machines, there are also electrical hazards in the workplace. These include plugs, electrical installations, fuses, and circuit breakers. When these are shut off for maintenance or cleaning, it is crucial that these energy sources are not reactivated during the work. For this, the Lockout Tagout procedure for electrical hazards must be implemented. These special lockouts lock the energy source and prevent activation as they are closed with a safety padlock. Use Brady and MasterLock lockouts to properly secure electrical hazards.
WORKPLACE SAFETY
The Dutch Working Conditions Act includes specific rules about workplace safety. Besides being legally required, a safe workplace is also important for the health of the company. With the right products, it is possible to create a safe working environment for employees. Protect cables with cable bridges or safety hooks so that no one can trip or machines do not get caught on loose cables. For smaller cable bundles, use cable ties, cable clamps, Velcro, and our handy spiral wrap.
In addition to trip hazards, there are also slip or skid hazards in the workplace. Slippery surfaces caused by chemicals, moisture, and/or fats are a major cause of such accidents. To combat these situations, an anti-slip product is the solution. If a liquid has leaked where no anti-slip product is placed, use one of our absorbent materials. There is a suitable product for every situation and liquid.
