Sustainability
At Nedelko, we understand the importance of sustainability and take our responsibility for a better world seriously. Our commitment to sustainability is reflected in our support for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 5, 7, 8, 11, and 12, our focus on Social Return on Investment (SROI), compliance with ISO standards, and our ambition to excel on the CO2 Performance Ladder. We strive to be a role model in reducing our ecological footprint, promoting equality, and stimulating economic growth, while working towards the creation of sustainable cities and communities.
Sustainable Development Goals
At Nedelko, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are central to our mission. These goals, introduced by the United Nations in 2015, represent a global call to action to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure peace and prosperity for all.
Nedelko has specifically focused on five of these goals in its policy:
Gender Equality (SDG 5)
Affordable and Clean Energy (SDG 7)
Decent Work and Economic Growth (SDG 8)
Sustainable Cities and Communities (SDG 11)
Responsible Consumption and Production (SDG 12)
This selection underscores our commitment to promoting a more sustainable and equitable world.
At Nedelko, we are committed to equality within our organization, aiming for a balanced representation of genders.
Our commitment includes the development of innovative and affordable LED lighting, with a focus on delivering high quality. Our headquarters in Barendrecht is equipped with solar energy and LED lighting, and since 2023, our vehicle fleet is fully electric.
We provide our employees with dignified work, fostering an environment of engagement and development. Our five-year plan is focused on economic growth within Europe, while promoting sustainable energy and responsible production, with a manufacturing process carried out in Dutch social enterprises.
Sustainability is a key focus in our weekly management team meetings.
Social Return on Investment (SROI)
Nedelko has partnered with the social enterprise Voorne Putten in Spijkenisse for the assembly of Prolumia Public Lighting Fixtures, a decision driven by both quality and the added value of enhancing job satisfaction.
This collaboration actively supports the participation of individuals with a distance to the labor market, in line with government policies that encourage such social inclusion. Additionally, Nedelko has employed an apprentice technician who, despite certain limitations, performs valuable work in a tailored environment.

CO2 performance ladder
Through this page, we will keep you updated on the developments regarding our organization's CO2 policy.
To contribute to a better environment and manage our CO2 emissions responsibly, we have implemented the CO2 Performance Ladder. As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts, we measure our organization's CO2 emissions. By creating a CO2 footprint, we have identified our primary sources of CO2 emissions.
Nedelko reduces CO2 in accordance with Level 3 of the CO2 Performance Ladder, a part of SKAO (the Foundation for Climate Friendly Procurement and Business). Every six months, we communicate our energy policy, CO2 footprint, and reduction targets both internally and externally.
In addition to our commitment to reducing our CO2 footprint, we recognize that our customers increasingly value a CO2 certificate, enabling them to conduct business with a lower environmental impact.
