For eye showers, the eyewash facility must prevent or limit serious injury when someone has come into contact with aggressive substances or flammable substances. When purchasing an eye shower, you must always take into account article 34 of the Environmental Hazardous Substances Act. The most important aspects of an eye shower are:

• Eye shower must be accessible within 10 seconds (6 seconds when storing acids).
• Eye shower must be placed within a distance of 30 m from the source of danger (3 m when storing acids).
• The jets must be soft to prevent eye damage from the water jet itself.
• The eyes must be able to be rinsed for at least 5 minutes, the recommended rinsing time is 15 minutes.
